Unmet Care Needs and Key Outcomes in Dementia

by , , ,

Relying on data from dementia caregivers recruited from eight catchment areas in the United States and interviewed at 6-month intervals over an 18-month period, the current study explores how unmet need for ADL dependencies influences health-related outcomes, such as nursing home placement, mortality, and loss to follow-up.. The present study sought to test the following hypothesis: Older adults with dementia who have greater unmet needs for ADL tasks were more likely to experience nursing home placement, death, and loss to follow-up during the course of the analysis.
