Affective Mirror - Emotion Detection App
by
The application can detect emotions such as happiness and excitement by analysing a video feed received from a regular webcam. This is just the first prototype and works best for happiness, sadness, surprise and excitement. It detects excitement by measuring the bpm (heart rate).
It makes use of two algorithms, facial expression detection and pulse detection. (I did a few push-ups in advance to demonstrate the detection of slight increase in heart rate)
